    Hi,

I have a Gerber PC2 plotter that has been running well for 5 or so years. However when I turned it on this morning where the LCD screen usually shows some dimensions it now just has five black squares where the numbers should be. None of the buttons work, it doesn’t register any vinyl when I insert it and won’t plot any thing sent from my computer. The manual says the plotter can be reset by pushing the menu button 5 times but that does not work. I’ve unplugged it left it and started it up again but this predictably did nout. I bought it from Spandex but you have to pay for technical support and was hoping I might be able to get some information/help here.

    Thanks

    Bill

To me it sounds like the keypad has a loose connection or is bad on this P2C. I need to know what model this machine is so I can give instruction on checking the connections or part number. The 600 & 1200 share the same instructions we also offered a 1600, each of them all have different part number for the keypad.

    Let me know.

Hi, thanks for replies. Spandex actually got back to me and said it sounds like the MAIN BOARD needs changing and gave me a break down on costs. Its appears I can buy the main board from them or maybe else where and save a substantial sum fitting it myself . Not sure how difficult to change the MAIN BOARD is or if its advisable for me to try it? Any thoughts? Cheers again.

Can’t be that hard – go for it.
