  Which vinyl will stick like you know what to emulsion walls?

  I’ve searched the boards with many posts back to 2009 but there doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer to the problem of finding a vinyl which will stay stuck to a mat finish emulsion painted wall.
  This instance just needs plain white for text, preferably mat finish but a print material could be used and utilised in the future.
  It doesn’t need to be removable, I just need it to stay put and not peel away the next day like it’s got a mind of its own.
  It must be a common problem for anyone doing exhibition work as this is for.

  Maybe the high grip vinyls from Hexis? They do stick like the proverbial, and from memory they have monomeric, polymeric and cast.

  Hi Peter,

  I have a rough breeze block walls in my workshop, with peeling paint and very dusty. I have a habit of sticking odd weeded out detail on them just to see what’s what in terms of grab. I found that whether it is monomeric cheap horrible APA or polymeric Hexis or Grafityp they all stay put if I use a heat gun and a rivet brush/ felt squeegee.
  I sometimes even sadistically overheat those to see how far I can take it…
  The results are quite impressive across the range really if you use enough heat.

  Every kind of vinyl did lift quite quickly though if applied without heat, so I am yet to come across one that doesn’t.

  Thanks all, I’m going to get a sample of the Hexis stuff as they do 760 wide which is all I need.
  I’ve tried all they usual heating methods but the mat emulsion paint the exhibition guys use just has no "stickability".

  Depends on how long you need it up for?
  We’ve used vinyl on a several jobs, different vinyls, heat etc. all lifted in various ways, one overnight others over a few months.
  Ended up using paint mask and emulsion on the permanent ones, customers love it.
  MD5 or the Hexis seems to last OK on the building hoardings we do.

  we use ultratac LG.. as we had a difficult wall to do.. this solved it.

  Very strong glue indeed

  I’ve just used Oracal 651 a few times with heat and it’s always stuck like you know what to emulsion walls.
