Cafe Banners Supplier – offering Returns
Posted by David Hammond on 26 August 2011 at 10:11Got a customer looking for some of these.
He already has the posts and was looking at the 2000mm Primo Cafe Banner cross bars.
I was planning on ordering the bars, check the fit before we went ahead and printed up the banners etc.
Plex offer a return but then charge 25% to restock it! So if they don’t fit I am going to be left out of pocket.
I’ve checked the tool bar, but can’t seem to track down another supplier.
Any suggestions welcome.

I think most will charge for restocking it but you could try http://www.signwaves.co.uk/
Having said that I don’t think you will have a problem with them fitting the existing posts, usually just clip into place anyway.
Cheers

They look like they may fit actually.
The ones from Plex have a rounded clip – looks nice but might not fit.

Cheers for the Link Gary.
Customer has gone for the 1800mm ones, much cheaper than the previous ones- Just means sending to another company to get the sleeved welded.
Not really sure how to go about it though…
Printing double sided on Blockout vinyl with plenty of bleed top and bottom for the sleeves, but not sure what size to tell the banner welders to make them so they are nice and tight 😕
-
That’ll depend on the height of your posts. We normally set our artwork up as 900mm deep and then sub them out to be printed on knitted polyester.

Because these are going on the posts he already has, there’s 2 rings already attached 1 top & 1 bottom. If it was a sliding ring on the post it would be much easier, but because they’re attached it needs to pretty much spot on. :-s
I would imagine it would be the depth from the top of top bar to bottom of the bottom one, with enough excess to make the sleeve. If I specify the space between the bars it should work.
I don’t want them to look like a bag of crap – I am hoping to get some more work from them as they’re quite a big client.
-
Are you sure the bottom ring doesn’t float up and down the post? That is how they usually work, then the lower crossbar creates the tension in the banner keeping it tight.
Cheers

Positive that it doesn’t.
These post’s are what he’s already had i think for ropes.
I am not sure if I could remove the post from the base and fit a floating ring???
But I am planning for the worse that they are fixed.
I will know more when the bars arrive next week.

Probably best to wait till then mate then make a decision.
😉

Thanks for the help Gary 🙂
Was thinking about trying to get a ring for the post – but that would also have to be the right size.
I will try and forget about it over the weekend- it’s driving me potty!
-
If it has been used for ropes it probably won’t even have the ring at the bottom mate. Might also be talking sh!t here but are post which are used for ropes weighted the same as those for banners? You don’t them blowing over at the first sign of wind.
Just something else for you to think about over the weekend :lol1: 😉

Definitely has a ring at the bottom. or at least the one he shown me has.
They’re fairly heavy – I quoted for new posts but he doesn’t wanna pay for it.
It’s quarter to 5 I am trying to forget about it already.

You’ll be lucky this time on a Friday!!
-
They are- We booked them at 10am –
If the gormless git drives like he books in parcels he wont get here till sometime next week.
Every time we rang they just kept saying ‘we do collect up to 5pm’

Big thank you to Gary – Poles ordered on Friday with the 3day Deliver option.
The delivery guy was stood at my door as I opened up at 5 to 9!
Signwaves are safely bookmarked, excellent service, friendly and less hostile than Plex.
Quality of the bars is really good, and they were a lot cheaper than other suppliers (slightly different design) but that means more profit for me!
Thanks again Gary!
Just need to work out how I am going to get the banners to fit nicely.

Well I’m half way there.
Just tried explaining to the Banner Finisher what I want – Not filled me with confidence.
