  • How reasonable is oracal 951 to apply

    Hello

We are considering buying a batch of 951 because the owner of a small fleet whose contract we have won has had 951 specified and fitted in the past.

Our favoured suppliers are 3M and Mactac; before we try and suggest a change of vinyl manufacturer perhaps 951 would be suitable for us anyway.

I realise that Oracal is a recognised good quality material but how is the adhesive with 951, e.g. some like Ritrama tend to be extremely agressive and I can’t seem to get on with fitting Ritrama dry at all, but perhaps it’s just me.

    Thanks

    John

John, you already know what will happen now, some people will come on and say it’s dead easy to fit and others will say it’s a nightmare lol

I don’t really have any experience with it myself but your best bet would be to get a sample or buy a couple of metres and give it a try yourself. Only way you will really know if it’s right for you.

    Is this for a wrap?

I use it for cut vinyl graphics.
It’s thin, not bad to weed etc.
    My one complaint
(I think I may have had a bad batch because it only did it on one color, same settings on my plotter as another 951 color cut the same day which was fine)
was that sometimes it’s hard to separate from the liner paper when you’re ready to apply.
    Love….Jill
