  • Which vinyl is suitable for bike wheel rims ?

    Hi Guys,
I have a client looking for some custom graphics for the rim of his mountain bike…
The rim is black and he’s looking for white text with a printed logo at each end, has anyone used a printable white vinyl that would stand up to the job ?
    Many thanks in advance 🙂

I have various types of vinyl (Avery for example) on MTB wheel rims and have had no problems with adhesion. The only issue can be placing the decals on the rim edges as they are exposed to scratches from rocks etc. Between spokes you should not have a problem. Hope this helps.

I hope both rims have disc brakes!

most good brands of vinyl will be fine for wheel rims.
you must stay clear of the rim side wall though. other than that, once you have them in place, heat them with a heat gun to help bond better.

best results is when applied before the wheel has been laced up. i.e. without the spokes.
