just spoke to mdp supplies on static cling.

I was told that it is not a problem to print on a white coloured static cling in reverse for the inside of a window measuring 3X3 meters and the customer can apply themselves should they want to. it should stay on for over a year if you wish and shouldnt get the problem of it coming off in cases. the static cling can be printed on either side. hence good to use for an inside of a window

Anybody like to comment on whether all this is true/false??? any experiences would be greatful.

    Thanx

The static cling I have used is easy to fit (the customer does it them selves with a bit of water), stays on well and can be easily removed. The stuff I have used would not be opaque enough to print both sides but I’m sure you can get it.

Only problem is, if you print it in reverse, it will be back to front when applied to the
window. You should face print it. Only reverse print if using clear and backing up
with white. The other thing is – allow plenty of time for gassing out, otherwise it can
leave ink on the window when removed.

    We’ve just done some…..

printed on a UV flatbed though……..I doubt you could do it through roll to roll but I might be wrong.

Lay down on print bed backing paper side up over……remove backing paper….print…….replace backing paper

I was expecting all kinds of issues with static but it worked very well all in all

I’ve printed onto white static cling normally and then put on inside of window facing out. No problems with fitting but I wouldn’t personally leave it on for a year.
Let it gas out too, as been suggested.
