Does any know of a estate agent sign post supplier, mine is getting increasingly slower and more costly… any ideas… 😀

We are just doing some research on this subject at the moment, surely the posts are just sawn down the middle by about 800mm ( depending upon the fixing method) or have I got the wrong end of the stick/post…. LOL -

if you want the real truth, we found alocal merchant who would supply the 2x2posts, and we bit the bullet and bought ourselves a great saw, so today, we have been sawing and painting!!
Its great value, so nearly a thousand posts later…
We only sell estate agent board packs, boards,slip fixings and post, so its great for us. mod-edit please read board rules

that’s what i was going to suggest, I used to get a local timber merchant to make the 2by2 posts also point and drill them ready to paint, saving me loads of time. 😀

Why bother painting or spraying for the sake of a sign post 😮 can’t see the point to be honest, i just supply then they can do what they want with them, they’ll only rot if the house doesn’t get sold for a couple of years 😀

what sort of things do you supply? surely you wouldnt give a customer a rusty sign or product same principle??

It’s a £40 sign on a wooden stick you put in your front garden, my god, every time i give my customers a "for sale" board they are more than happy mate.
Why is it the same principle? it’s not like it’s a £300 sign, it’s a for sale board, plain and simple, it’s only going to be in the garden 6 months max, none of my customers have complained and always come back for more. 😀

its what the client wants, colour-coded posts to go with their nicely designed and printed estate boards, its all image from many of these clients, and if it gets more work selling other sign holding systems, then its worth it I know they rot and can be a bit pointlless, but its all about keeping the client from going elsewhere its called business 😀

Im sure if I took that attitude, then half my clients would leave me, so what ever makes them happy.

I can see where Glen is coming from, but some companies require the stake to be colour matched to the board.
has no one thought about putting the installers details on the stake eg spray stenciled??
we`ve been asked to start this service up, as an agent near us is suffering with bad service. he suggested this option as a way to advertise our company ( depending upon the way the board is mounted of course.)

If I was selling my house I wouldn’t be happy with a tatty bit of timber stuck in the garden…..I would like to think the sign was clean and tidy and reflected well on my property as well the Estate Agent

whatever you can do to make a profit is fine,
we all do what we can to earn a crust.
some things take a lot of labour to turn a few quid into profit.
Quantity is often is the way to go, stack em high sell em cheap.
It is all down to number crunching.
Last week I did a full colour change wrap, then applied digital print and cut graphics, took almost 5 days, perhaps I could have made more profit doing a few thousand wooden posts?
I know I would have earned more with a few simple van liveries.Peter

Who said i do them on a "tatty bit of timber"? i do them on a 2×2 pse 8ft timber stake, if you know what pse means mate, i’m also a joiner and i don’t do things "tatty". 👿

You first asked where to get the posts from? i only replied mate, if you do your boards for estate agents and they want them painting then fair enough, i was only saying i couldn’t see the point in it, i do all mine for the private seller, if i painted all posts and charged them an extra tenner they’d go bananas.

It’s just the way I see it.. a street full of Estate Agents signs on painted posts isn’t the prettiest of sights…….a street full of Estate Agents signs on unpainted posts would just look a complete eyesore to me…..as you say though we are in different markets
