Neil, try doing a search someone asked the same question not that long ago. Sorry can’t remember what people were using but think the vallet type tar and glue removed got a few votes.

I use Tar & Glue remover. Been using it for many years.
as with all removers, once the adhesive, gunk etc is all gone. you should wipe down properly to degrease the surface of the removal liquid, before applying new graphics.

    Tar & Glue Remover

Costs approx £15 for 5 litres

    Clover Tar & Glue Remover

I use AutoSmart Tardis. It’s for removing tar (which it’s very good at) and I have to use it on the back of most vans, but it’s also great at getting glue off.

Neil, some Tar & Glue removers seem to work better than others so if your not 100% happy with what your using try a different brand :lol1:

I don’t seem to do any vinyl removal these days but a few years ago I had a unit which had a car valet place next door, I just use to get a bit off them when I needed it. They would change their suppliers every so often or try new products which is how I found out that some do a much better job than others.

I just tend to use IPA if I ever need to remove any glue these days, does a very good job and it’s pretty cheap. Does evaporate very quickly so not always ideal but I use it for all my cleaning and it saves having lots of different products lying about.
