  Alternative Software – GIMP & Pixelmator for Mac

  Any opinions &/or comments on GIMP or PIXELMATOR?

  For simple design and editing are they viable alternatives for most tasks?

  Any restrictions on file compatibility?

  Gimp comes with some Signlab versions and is readily available Free. Fully featured although not in same league as Photoshop from what I understand. I found it a little awkward to use but I’m not that good with bitmap editing software anyway.
