Don’t confuse the output port with the driver software that is installed.

I think you need to do two things

1/ Configure your software to use the correct driver for your cutter (e.g CE5000-60)

2/ Send the plotter information to the correct communications port that you have plugged your machine into. (e.g LPT1, com1 com2 or usb ports)

How old is your Signblazer software? If it’s quite old it may not utilise modern USB ports and your new laptop will no longer have the older style Lpt1 or com1 ports?

Anyone got a link for drivers compatible with Windows 7? Preferably not zipped but if zipped also a free zip program without all the spyware…

You could install "Virtual PC" which runs windows XP within the windows 7 operating system. This was designed specifically to allow older software to be installed on a new PC. Virtual PC is free to download from Microsoft.

You can find out more here:-

Phill I think it only works with the top end versions of windows 7 would imagine the operating system on Lucy’s laptop will be windows 7 home premium which doesn’t support the XP mode.

You’re right Martin – it only works with Windows 7 Professional and upwards.
