  • Eco Solvent Ink vs Asbru Ink

We just switched to another brand of ink for our Asbru Compact 54 (Roland VS540 upgraded).
The new ink is called ECO SOLVENT.
No change of color profiles is said to be needed because it’s supposedly fully compatible with the ASbru ink we used before.

However, the photographic prints we get now are rather strange looking. Black areas have a purple/blue-ish look to them (reminds me of back when I developed photos from 135mm film and the chemicals had gone bad). Gradients look strange, it almost looks as if someone painted contours on by hand.
    Any ideas…?

You need to re profile your printer. I had B&P sell me some inks once telling me they were the same as what I run but were totally different. No ink is exactly the same.

    Thanks for your reply.
That sounds like a heavy task ahead….

Could I just download and install profiles from somewhere…?

My ink is called Bordeaux, supposedly similar to EcoSol MAX.

(Today I’ve updated VersaWorks, by the way….)
