Hi, I’m a window tinter that just dabbles in sign writing. I’m doing the front of this shop:

It’s where I work from so I’m doing it for free, but I get to put my stuff (‘window tinting’) up there pretty large.

Just wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on what would be good. I want the main words to be seen from the road which is 5m back. One of the guys that runs the shop was talking about a solid vinyl ‘frame’ around the top and sides of the windows, with the writing on. But I think that would look rubbish wouldn’t it? I’d like to have stuff done in frost myself, but I don’t suppose it would be bold enough to be noticed from the road.

    Cheers guys!

    Hi Tom
I presume you still want to see through the window for displays.
If that is the case how about a combination of the Vinyl lettering backed up by frost.
You could do what you wanted using a frost border, say 500mm around the whole window leaving the centre clear to see displays.

    Vinyl under frost works well.
I have done this which is translucent vinyl under frost window film.

    Stu
