Just in case anyone is searching for the same answer as I was ,
I discovered while watching a flexisign tutorial/demo that the answer is Yes !flexisign will create contour cutting – registration markers so that you can line those up with the blade of your cutter
I’m sorry all the pro`s for turning your discussion board into a signs101 help site

I didn’t think water based inks stuck to vinyl but I could be wrong. If that was the case, then why would all us sign makers spend large amounts of money on solvent printers?? 🙄 🙄

yes you can, vinyl, paper, flags, banners, canvas, backlit posters, in matte and gloss finishes, and I believe wallpaper as well now.
I think you can print the same range on both printers but need the correct materials for the ink etc.
the reason signmakers buy solvent printers is because the ink can go unlaminated and also can be stretched (for wraps etc) where pigment printed products can’t …… yet 🙄 :lol1:
It’s a big debate here and I took a risk and found only the people who have had these printers know how good they are, what they can do and the limitations (which are only a few) 😉

I have an epson 7880Pro, but as I have a versacamm too I only use it for photos, posters, paper banners and canvas prints. i have had mine for 3 years and it’s always performed perfectls, i also have it linked up to a continuous ink system so I pay less than £15 per cartridge now as opposed to the £70 for the genuine ink cartridge, which is mighty pricey when you think it takes 8 of them.
It runs all day without problem… wouldn’t be without it.. but wouldn’t be without the versacamm too….. love my eco solv 😉

Warren, I actually think you were pretty lucky with the print work you did with the pigment printer, I know everyone is different but I wouldn’t put pigment prints outdoors unless it was short term, if you read any of the supplier info they only say up to 18 months if laminated.
As for media there is less choice now than there use to be and fewer suppliers although if you shop about there are still a few different types of media available, I wouldn’t advise buying one if you are looking to do external graphics but Mo’s set up where he has both probably works well.
