  • Help, How to Scorch Branded logo in Timber

I have a client who wants to scorch brand their logo in some timber like the boys in the Wild Wild West in the old Western Movies.

I was thinking of using the router and a blow torch to blacken the wood and lacquer to preserve the effect..

    Any other Ideas please

we’ve done this before quite a few times. we use a small blow torch and lightly go over the area in strokes. once you get the desired effect wipe down and lacquer over it. just be careful not to hold the flame in the same place to long or you will darken that spot to much.

make an aluminium template, helps disperse the heat. using a fine blow torch, (we use the flame polisher, very hot) burn the lettering, to a good char, few mm deep looks good. take a wire brush and brush out charcoal. then lacquer
