Remote Logic, Your views please?
Hello Im new to UKSB and after some years in graphics am starting up a Digital Print and Sign shop as of NOV 2010. I allready have 2 A3 Oki Laser Printers and a 60cm vinyl cutter. This in Lusaka, Zambia which has no wide format reseller, technician Roland, Graphtec, Mutoh or whoever, nearest service some 2,000km away in South Africa, that is the REMOTE part.
The LOGIC part is I need within the next 2 weeks to buy a reliable tried and tested good used Roland 540 Eco-Solvent machine as a basic model for our shop. This I will do in the UK, allready watching 2 on the bay site, and contract a freelancer from South Africa for installation. Why the UK? a larger market for sourcing and reasonable spares prices for print heads, inks etc.
To buy new wouldn’t work as no warranty and service contracts apply here. So good used I think for me would be best and less costly with breakdowns, which I must factor in even with a new machine.
Fortunately with the Oki’s it’s worked well, we have a DHL account in UK, and can access Broadband for tel support from Oki (havn’t used as yet) That could work with the Roland, is there anyone offering this service?, it would be worth our while to subsribe and pay for a tel support service?
Any suggestions on a good workhorse like the Roland 540? alternate sources to the bay, and any one to volunteer for some REMOTE support once I apply my LOGIC.

Hi Nobert,
I don’t print myself but, have a look in the uksb shop, there are often reconditioned (used) or ex display machines for sale,
