Help needed for metal substrate
Anyone know of a metal media that I can print on? Looking for small aluminum labels 20mm x 40mm for my versacamm sp300i

quick solution would be printing onto clear digital and laminating it onto chrome polyester type media.
chrome films and the like are not vinyl but a polyester type film. the surface isnt coated either so the ink just bleeds and runs all over the place.
to print onto chrome "directly" successfully you would need something like the a gerber edge or pc-60 or 600 thermal printer, HP Latex machines, UV machine or even one of the Elements water based printers. which all do it pretty much effortlessly.

Cool, thats sound advice, so with that in mind I could print on the brushed alley and then laminate it to small plastic or metal labels. Is there anywhere I can get the backing, ie the lables to laminate too, pre cut in the sizes I want?
This sounds like it may be a little too complex to do. because if they are pre cut then they would be hard to line up.
Any ideas? or just best farming out the work?

is it only brushed they do peter or do they do a chrome also peter?
now you mention it, i am sure there is someone else that does a digital chrome or metalic effect, but cannot for life of me remember. (thats IF it is a digital "chrome") im probably wrong but have Grafityp in mind… you might remember Nigel came out with a printable digital magnetic roll that he had printed a world map onto when we were on their wrapping course? maybe thats what im thinking on… 🙄

they list a polished silver, and also gold, but I have not tried it.

could be wrong but looking at it, i think both gold and silver are brushed ally finish as opposed to a chrome finish. approx £20 linear metre x 1220mm wide. which is fine if you have a long run and convenience is a must and that finish is acceptable, but it would work out cheaper just laminating chrome with a digital clear and printing & cutting and getting the finish you require?

Metamark do both gold and silver in polished and brushed, I got samples from them 2 weeks ago for all 4 options and they all print very nicely.

Reasonably thick stuff, so does need some adjustments for cutting.

I have printed the metamark material with good results, which material do you have a problem with? or , maybe you should stop playing COD quite as much and read the whole thread!😀
