Printing on to Cast
Hi All,
Has anyone ever printed onto normal cast vinyl instead of digital cast vinyl. What is the difference?
I got a van to do that needs to have cast vinyl used. Its only 1110mm x 800mm and its going on those bloody VW Crafter vans with the horrible indent all the way down the side. Normal digital vinyl will pull out over time. The smallest amount of cast digital vinyl I can find is minimum order of 10meters then another 10m of cast lam. So a big chunk of profit from that job. I don’t mind getting the proper stuff in as I need to do my van any.
Just like to see your views on digital cast vs normal white cast vinyl for printing on.

why don’t you just outsource the print then, saves you having to buy a roll.

I was thinking that. I think I’ll get a quote from my old digi print supplier.
All though thinking about it, having the proper stuff in stock will be good for next time.
Just wanted other views on the difference between the two types of vinyl.

I haven’t tried printing to normal cast but think I read on here that people have done it but I don’t think it was for wrapping purposes and more for printing to silver etc
Don’t know how the properties would effect it when wrapped, also take in to account that the laminate must match the vinyl so don’t know if they make a wrap laminate for regular cast vinyl.
It’s a good question actually, is white MD7 and MD7 the same for example?

Can tell you Oracle 751c won’t print don’t know about other casts. Pretty sure you can get a cast laminate.
