  • Removing double sided tape from brushed stainless panel

Posted by Anthony Keating on 3 August 2010 at 16:40

    Hi

I have been asked to look at a job, which in-tales removing existing 10mm komacel/foamex letters from a brushed stainless totem sign, which means taking off old tape too, which is black 3M type or similar.

    Customer would prefer two options:

    (a) remove existing letters and fit new vinyl text to sign, even with shadow
    (b) remove existing letters and fit a stand-off panel with new letters affixed to front of panel, ‘but I must remove existing letters, and not just cover with panel’

Is it possible to do this without ruining the panel? What options do I have?

    Thanks in advance for answers.

No, I had not got around to changing this as I was with them years back. Only got back in to signs, but was just checking for an easier way to reduce marks etc from panel as they wanted to re-use the panel.

I have already sorted this out, by removing letters and spraying a solution on to the tape, hense makinging it easier to leave less marking to panel, as its brushed stainless.
