  • 3M Di-NOC or Hexis carbon Fibre????

Hi all, just wanting to know what peoples opinions are between the both of these vinyls??? I have been using the 3M but I found when I done wing mirrors the vinyl lifted out of the deep recesses. Maybe that tho was something to do with the way I fitted it and I also noticed it when it got heated by the sun it also moved as well. Has anyone else had any problems with this or is it just me maybe not applying properly??? I have a few jobs to do in carbon real soon and I don’t want the customer coming back because of vinyl lifting, so was wondering which I should go for?? Also the vinyl is going to be applied on the exterior of cars. Any help would be brilliant.

can you talk us through how you applied the vinyl?
do you have any pictures of the job just now so we can see where it has failed?

i have moved this topic to the "off topics" forum just now, so you can attach pictures easily. ill move it back to the relevant forum later.

Priming the areas that are liable to lift with the 3M DiNoc Primer will help tremendously. The main problem is that if you look at the back of the 3M it is grooved to allow easier removal of trapped air. The recesses in the grooves have less adhesive so if you stretch the material the area with less adhesive makes contact with the surface you are wrapping and then doesnt stick as well. Does that make sense? Sometimes i’m not so good at explaining.
