I would buy some sheet material and other bits and pieces from them on occasion. you know they are gone now yes? Factory blown-up some years ago now with about 9 staff killed as a result? im sure you will do, no problem, just wondering why the question mate. 😀

Buying from Dundee branch just last week…
All part of ICL group aren’t they.
Easter Road Plastics, ICL technical Plastics, Stockline Plastics and to a lesser extent Plastics W Graham.
Ah, the factory explosion – that was just the fabrication side…stockline still lives on.
Never have any issues from the Dundee branch. Get decent prices – and handy as I’m 10mins away.

Rob, I was in there this morning, they did not seem to wan the business, they did not have prices, but said they would email them out, (still waiting) strange way to do business.

Hmmm – Glasgow bunch can be a bit odd sometimes.
What did you go in for?
-
Dropped by to see the range they do and prices, like Rob I thought they had gone, they seemed to resent the intrusion.

Hi Graham,
We use them for our acrylic. Prices aren’t too bad and always a next day delivery. If you speak to Sheena (01413323035) at the Glasgow branch she’s probably the most helpfull. The only problem with them is that sometimes the sheets could be packaged better. I’ve had one or two arrive with broken corners.
Other than that i’m happy with there product knowledge and after sales.

I know what you mean about them not wanting business…. I’ve went in several times to order only to be told to come back another time, that or they just look at you funny when putting the order through
I’ve found them to be the most unhelpful people at times so stopped using them
-
Strange that so many people are having the same issues with the Glasgow depot.
quote :We would like to thank you for calling at Stockline and hope that everything is to your satisfaction. Should you find anything you are not happy with, or indeed any of our colleagues are not up to your expectations, please let us know.Sheena and Colin
Do let them know – it’s in everyone’s interests to improve customer service.

I called in this morning at the back of 9.00am (the entire workforce stopped and looked in my direction), I thought for a second I had forgot to put my kegs on ! and asked for product info and prices, , explained what I wanted the material for etc, to be told "we dont have a price list" ? (whit) we can email you , (ok) email address given, written down, still not recieved at time of writting, no big deal, but a serious case of paddle faster I hear banjo’s.

well there you go… Complete news to me… never knew anything about this/them. last i saw of them was a collapsed building… complete bomb site on the TV/news and in the papers.
in fact, i saw on TV some time after about the tribunal and the families of the dead seeking compensation. I could be wrong but from memory, did they not get found guilty of neglect or something by H&S?Sorry… just realising this is probably not the place to discuss this without knowing the facts, but as i said. i genuinely thought the company went when the disaster happened.

After Robs comments it suddenly dawned on me why everyone may have looked over at me, Bright Yellow day Glo Jacket bikers, white helmet, they probably thought it was the HSE. But you are correct they did get several heavy fines.

Called them this morning, and asked them why I had not received the price list via email, got a very apologetic sales manger, the email arrived 5 miuntes later, good range of products and the prices are in the ballpark, nice and handy, so will give them a try

Hi All,
I had the same response from them when I called to see about prices for sheets of 5mm foamex it was as if they didn’t want the business, until I mentioned it was 60 sheets!!!!
I would suggest Graeme at Righton (0141 646 3730), always give me a great deal, even though I drive a hard bargain, tell them you want Andy @ Flyer Scotland prices lol. They will tell you to $£%@ off!! I managed to get about £8 per sheet off Stocklines prices. Most of my orders are for 30-40 sheets or more, so you might not get that discount, just thought I would throw that out there.

Andy, I did get back in touch and speak to them, told that I had been in etc etc, the apologies soon followed, along with a whole load of samples and the all important price list, I called them back and said I had got the price list and suggested that they should sharpen their pencil regarding prices on some of their products, only to be told that account holders recieve discounts, so it’s not realy a price list then, more a guide, a starting point, a your having a laugh type thing, finger in the air which way is the wind blowing type price, eh weird and judging by your experience I am not alone.
