Where can we dispose of waste solvent ink?
Posted by Natasha Thomas on 15 June 2010 at 10:52We’ve reached the stage where we can no longer store our waste tubs of EcoSol Max as we’ve run out of space.
Does anyone know of a national service for collection and disposal of these inks?Cheers for any help!

Are you talking about empty cartridges? If so there are places who take them to recycle them.

It’s been mentioned about just letting the ink dry out in some rags and disposing of them.
The idea is that is what is happening on your printer anyway so shouldn’t be a problem.
I haven’t done this though and have a large bottle to pour waste ink into, don’t know what I’ll do when it’s full though so I’ll be interested in any answers as well.Steve

Hi Natasha
You could take it along to your local bodyshop. They will have solvent disosal facilitys. Might cost you a drink though. -

Naturally make sure you are licensed to carry solvents and have the correct warning diamonds on you vehicle and you insurance is all up to date to carry such liquid.
😀 😉

I know the post is about the waste ink but if you use the link Gary posted you get paid for your empty cartridges. Why send them off for free when you can £1.50 (I think) each for em!

Gavin i see where your coming from mate… and agree.
i have never looked for alternatives or ways of getting a pound or so from our carts…
i chose colorgreen because it was the first time i was given a pain free solution to disposing of our spent carts. i filled out a simple form on their site. within a day or so i received an prepaid flatpacked box.
we simply dump our carts in the box and when full. post it back as everything has been pre-paid and badged up ready to go by them. job done, and another eco-friendly feather in our companies cap. -
I emailed http://www.wastenotinternational.com and got this response
"Waste Not International have passed all of the UK collections over to
another company – MT Cartridge Company Ltd., to enable us to expand
internationally."John
