I printed a few hundred static cling stickers to go in newsagents windows. I printed them on my Versacamm and I stuck some on my window to see how they looked and how well they stuck. I forgot all about them and after 2 weeks decided to remove them. On removal they left about 30% of the print on the glass. It came off pretty easily with windowlene or IPA so I wouldn’t worry too much. I never had any comeback from the few hundred I supplied.
One thing to be careful of is letting the printed surfaces touch each other. Even after letting the stickers dry for a few days, the printed surfaces will stick to each other and pull the ink off. Be careful when stacking the stickers or packaging them up.
I don’t know about the inks damaging glass for good. I’m pretty sure eco-sol inks aren’t that aggressive although full solvent may be. If you leave any vinyl on glass for long enough you will be left with a permanent residue/mark.
