Looks just like my van 🙄

    Nice job Anthony,

I used the Hexis Carbon fibre vinyl on a motorbike tail case last week. Have to laugh though, the guy walked in off the street and asked us to do it. Some people have more money than sense.

Material is really nice to work and looks good. They also sell it in 610 and 750mm by the metre i think, which saves buying in the wider rolls.

Hows the 3M sticking to the wing mirrors?? I did the wing mirrors on a MK4 golf and they popped on me. Maybe i done something wrong?? I have been asked to do wing mirrors on new C class Mercedes and i just don’t want the customer coming back with them popped. Any advice for me??

I was told by william smith’s rep that DI Noc is not suitable for deep recesses and heavy stretching

This is a link to our web page that gives help and advise re the Di-noc product

    http://www.wmsmith.co.uk/index.cfm?fuse … tentID=270

We’ve done some tests using the water based primer, and it did not harm the paintwork in anyway after being fitted to a vehicle for 6-8 weeks.

    Hope this helps

    HI Gill,

I’m blushing 😳 at using the hexis material after you came in past for a lovely chat a couple of weeks ago. I guess it’s the stingy Aberdonian in me. It’s just not a product that we use alot of (yet) and i do hate to see expensive rolls of material sitting on the shelf. is there any sign of WM Smith selling in the smaller and larger rolls?

Oh got the keys for our new premises today so i’ll be posting photo’s soon. Boy have we got our work cut out for us !!!!

    Hi Steve

Hey competition is good and it would be extremely naive of me to expect everyone to always buy for Smiths.
Yes part rolls are available. We are having a 3M meeting next week so I’ll ask if they have any plans to supply wider widths.

I can’t wait to see your new premises…….those pic’s showed huge potential and you’ll have no problem getting vehicles in :lol1: :lol1:

I’m guessing you’ll be very busy with a paint brush over the coming months :lol1: :lol1:

    Hello everyone.

    Gill
Have you got that water based primer wp-3000 in stock?
I’m using Primer 94 at the moment and I can clearly say it’s not leaving any marks – everything easy to clean by IPA. Also I’m quite pleased from the effect, the adhesion is much better.
Is it the same stuff what that wp-3000 or is it something different?

    Mike

Ps. Can you push 3M factory to start doing CF in 1500 wide rolls. I’m sorry but I#m getting sick of using Hexis cf. (On my last order, when I rolled out few meters you could see how the CF structure is wave – obviously customer didn’t like it and I had to remove it – at least he paid for that :))

wow, been a while since i updated this, had a few more things in.

a friend asked me to wrap his wingmirrors in lime green, only had a signwriting vinyl in stock, so we had a test to see if it would stick, and so far, it has! not shrunk or anything.
also got an mr2 in soon for carbon bonnet and spoiler, a bmw compact for carbon mirrors, roof and bonnet, and a van in for signwriting 😀
