A friend of mine has asked me for advice about installing photoshop on his new PC. He bought photoshop about a year ago and installed it on his old PC successfully. But on the new PC when he closes the disc drive ready to install he is getting a message saying disc invalid.

I said I would ask here if anyone had any ideas as to what was wrong?

Probably something as simple as a picky drive and marginally dirty / damaged disk.

I’ve got a drive on my main machine that’s as picky as hell – sometimes have to read disks over the network.

If it is a tiny bit scuffed – a quick wipe over with WD40 / baby oil and 99% wiped off solves that.

Also – I’m not sure, but I don’t think ‘CS’ (version 8) is Windows 7 compatible.

Thanks David – I’ll suggest he tries that.
