What material to use for shop sign?
Hi Guys,
Just wondering what boarding you guys you to do shop signs with?. I have a sign to do (it’s my dad’s business and I fancy having a go at it) around 10 x 3 1/2 foot. I guess it’s a plastic acrylic or similar. I have had a look in the toolbar but not sure what I am looking for.

HI Paul,
try dibond/skybond/renobond etc, aluminium / polythene composite panel which is available in 10×5 panels. it doesn’t degrade like acrylic and is far better than the foamex type panels if being fixed direct. if you’re putting it in a frame and ‘hanging’ it from the top then the good quality foamex type panels will be fine (white), however, the colours can fade relatively quick so it’s best to floodcoat colours, dibond comes in a range of basic colours and lasts years in all weathers.
Europoint used to sell whole sheets and cut to size so I imagine Robert Horne still do too, i’ve not ordered recently so i’m not sure.

Dibond sheet.
Or other similar Alu-panel sheeting.
Can be used flat or Routed and folded into trays.
