Trough light recommendation please.
Can someone advise me on troughlighting please?
I need to find one suitable for a sign 1600mm deep.
Also, would you front illuminate a black sign (with a single line of bold white text)? I get the feeling it would just show a reflection of the light.All these years and I’ve never used a troughlight, what a bleedin amateur! 🙂

ADLUX from portland lighting andy. it lights a bigger depth but is fairly big in profile.
You could double light it with a throught light top and bottom also. would work better with a smaller throught light.

ive been doing a few 1.5 metre deep by 9 metre signs. 30ft up…
each time i have opted for the greener approach and went with LED trough lights from Insight sign systems.
the entire trough light is more or less empty. no workings so they are soooo light and easy to work with. which really helps on big signs. go with superbright led troughs from insight. i think you will pay about £10 per foot for their regular trough lights and approx £14 per foot for the led option.i find it very easy to sell these toughs to BIG companies trying to do the whole green thing, so its a feather in their cap for choosing the led route and are willing to spend the light more, but save allot long term on bulb changes, maintenance and electricity. even the smaller companies DO see the benefits, but many still penny pinch and opt for fluorescent tubes.

I have used Vision Depot light units many times now. Very good product including LED’s.
The deeper the sign, the longer the brackets required. A supplier will advise the size required.
I fitted one of their lights at 22 feet in one line using a special joiner that makes it look like one complete light.
