  • Hat’s off to vinyl wrappers

Completed a 1 day course on vinyl wrapping on fri……not easy is it? I am sure with lots of practice I will get there though. I was using very cheap digital printing media though which made things more awkward. Might be doing a 3 day one on one course with James Deacon just to build my confidence.

We were using isopropanal as panel wipe and I cant find it anywhere, any ideas as to where I can purchase this or do you have better recommendations for a good panel wipe soloution?

    thanks again

you can buy it cheaper in larger quantities, but it does go a long way.

IPA is available from quite a few sources on a well known auction site.

I can check the exact one we get ours from in the morning.

be careful IPA can easily be watered down as it is clear.
i have had suppliers in the past that supplied it at a good price, but a few months down the line i knew i was buying watered down stuff. smells exact same because it is strong smelling but marks that normally would come away instantly like a regualr ink pen, wouldnt.
i prefer to buy local from a company i know well.

just had a look at the second part of your reply there, we were using really think and really cheap digital print vinyl which wouldn’t stretch very well and the glue made it hard for air to escape

Some chemists sell IPA or will get it in for you.

    Good warning Rob.

I think our stuff is ok though because I try to be careful where I buy.

The chemical business is awash with thieves, villains and chancers. Those who take a generic substance, repackage into smaller containers, multiply the price by ten, then flog it to the likes of us as a specialist product. For an example, try comparing the price of orange glue remover from a sign related company with that charged by a proper chemical company.

Same with IPA. Avoid re-sellers, and buy from a reputable source. Even if they do sell on eBay. 😀

    Try Ultrachem.
I have no complaints so far.

I’m not using IPA since Andrew show me the 3M cleaning stuff and it’s not much more expensive than IPA
