Just looked into firmware updates for my versacamm

I’ve got version 6.60 on my machine and there is an update to 6.90

Is it worth the upgrade? Is it simple to do?

Just don’t want to do it incase it fecks up the machine

Very easy to do – takes all of ten minutes.

Just follow the instruction to the letter – and job done.

TBH – when I did my firmware it was for the express purpose of changing the pump speed values for the updated version…other than that…no discernible difference.

Cant say if its worthwhile but the engineer always checks ours when on site so there must be some worth to it. I did ours not too long ago. Just download the relevant version and it should come with the installer. Follow the instructions carefully and you wont have a problem buddy – honest!

Just a word of caution re firmware updates if you are running third party inks. Occasionally Roland or whoever will put out an update with Head frequency changes etc this can sometimes have an adverse effect on how well your inks will work. Always try to have a back up earlier version of the firmware. Some 3rd party inks will actually state a firmware version that the inks have been tried with and not let the end user end up as the guinea pig.
As to updating the firmware very easy just never disturb it whilst it is doing its thing.
