Has anyone taken out the Rolandcare extended warranty?

My sistuation is that I have a 30" versacamm and the black head has started deflecting. I bought it as a 2nd user without warranty. A new print head and fitting etc will cost me about £1K.

I just called Roland about Rolandcare and from what I understand, the printer has to be in fully working order before I can take out the extended warranty. I would have to spend £1K getting it fixed then pay for the Rolandcare on top, even though if both heads went the next day they would be fixed for free.

The reason I’m questioning this is that I’ve read about people going back to Roland warranty after using 3rd party inks, signing up to Rolandcare and getting new heads/inks etc all as part of the deal. Am I mistaken?
    Thanks,
    Owen

I have cover from Roland and I would not be with out it. Head problem last month they came out and replace the part along with the cause of the problem. I really recommend them 100% , fantastic service and staff along with the complete range of parts in stock. Roland 100% all the way. Rich

Yep I’ve got the service agreement with Roland Australia and they’ve been fantastic.

I’d buy another machine with their warranty plan again in a heartbeat.

I have a Roland service agreement and as above I can’t fault it, if however, like some others on these boards you are prepared to do the routine maintenance and repairs yourself then it probably looks a rather expensive option. Roland are not, of course, the only company to offer service agreements for the machines.
