  • Looking for an Infrared IR Laser Non Contact Thermometer

Hi there as above, i’m just looking for someone to advise me on buying a good infrared thermometer. Or to point me in the right direction of a good seller.

If you are using one which you are happy with could you please let me know the make, model etc, or if there are variations on different types of these and ones which are better than the other.

I’m trying to help my Dad get one, he’s a very experienced fitter but now some customers require these to be used to insure the material etc.

    Many thanks

    Liam

I buy ours from a local model shop.

Apparently they are used for checking tyre temperatures on model racing cars.

They’re not the best quality, but the readings are accurate enough, and they are cheap enough for the staff to abuse, break and lose.

I got mine from Snap on tools it for checking engine coolant temp. and is very accurate but not cheap, but low cost ones are a waste of money.

mine’s a snap-on too, prob overkill for what i use it for (mostly checking my ancient heat press is the temp it says it is) but, i stole it from my brother when he permanently borrowed my snap-on timing gun and broke it! 😀
