    Hi Everyone,

I really hope someone can help with this, as I have a serious problem with my PC60.

Last night I took the print head out to replace the arm that holds the cartridge in place, put it all back together ( as per the service manual I had downloaded) and went through the steps to re-allign the cartridge, print, and then cut ( the factory mode bit where it prints the 3mm lines and then the target part where you align the pen ).

We were up well into the night trying to get the print /cut allignment right but whatever we try, cannot get it back into allignment.

When it prints the arrow and the cross whatever we do the blade is a couple of mill out, as if the whole head unit part needs to go further back, we have tried tightening and loosening the allignment screws and both myself and my partner are at the end of our tethers trying to get it back to working perfectly – which it was before the cartridge arm broke.

Could someone please offer some help or suggestions, as we have work to do using the printer.

If anyone could also suggest maybe a service engineer I could contact – I live in Swansea, as I just want to get it working again as soon as possible.

Thanks and any advice is greatly appreciated, Cath

    hi

sounds like you have the front edge sensor switched on, unfortunately it does not tell you that in the book.

dip switch no 6 should be off. if you alter a dip switch you must switch the machine off and on for it to take effect.

my method of setting the knife is long winded but is better.
print and cut a 20mm square notice the offset then go in to the knife setup routine and alter. you may be a while doing this but the results are worth it.
when correct you should be able to print a .11 line and cut down it.

each tap on the key pad in adjustment mode is about 2 thou movement

    Hi Chris,

Thank you so much for your reply, I’m sorry I’m not very technical, when I have printed the square, where do I need to go to change the knife set up? Is it something I have to set by pressing a combination of buttons on the front or is it something I have to change by unscrewing / tightening something.

    Thanks again, Cath

to adjust the head to knife go to where it prints the cross hair move the knife to where you think it should be a try again.

30 mins spent doing this is well worth it.

and should only need to be done once after a head is fitted. till next time.

you can turn the front edge sensor back on when you have done all the adjustments
