    Hi all,

Ok, we’ve acquired a printer from a friend as it was unused and just going to waste. She had inherited the printer and until we dug it out the loft we knew nothing about it. (Its in great condition- well looked after mind!) Now we have it I’m wondering if there is anyway it would print onto vinyl? Might well be no chance but thought it was worth asking the experts 😀 Not for doing anything flash, no vehicle wraps or out, just smaller stuff- car stickers etc and heat transfer material for Tshirts.

Look forward to hearing from you 🙂
    Thanks
    Emma

In it’s current state the answer would really be no to both questions because of the inks it will be using but I believe the 1520 can be used for sublimation printing so you may be able to get it switched over to do sublimation printing for t shirts.

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for replying. We will be getting new inks etc if that’s what you mean by its current state?

No what I meant was that it will have been running using dye based ink which won’t be any good for what you want to do.

If you want to do "T" shirts then you would need to remove the old ink carts, flush the machine through and then install sublimation ink carts but I don’t know who would supply them as I don’t do sublimation printing.

you might need to purchase head cleaning carts if it’s been up the loft for sometime & I would also recommend that you only buy cheap compatible cartridges until you get a good test print out of it
