• What Ruler?

Is there such a thing as a signmaker’s ruler? Maybe something with a built in level or special markings?

We use a purpose made ruler for graphic placement on clothing – designed to find centres more easily etc etc

I guess many of you use tapes etc so what’s your favourite?

Well I will start with the workshop where a use a Big yellow ruler which is 1500mm long with a safety edge for saving your fingers, when on site and mounting signs I have a Leica laser level and when working on vehicles I like the kids type school rulers with the easy read markings !!!

PS the laser is great for setting an angle on vehicles to work to when you need to set an angle the same for each graphic being applied.

for the work bench a b&q dry wall t square
also a couple of metre and 600 mm steel rules
a few lengths of metre creasing rule
toolboxes all over with various tapes and dotted all over 30 and 45 cm plastic shatter proof clear rulers cheap as chips from staples and ideal for measuring on vehicles a lazer measure and a roll up tape.
i also keep a standard no plate in the van to use as a reference in pictures

and guess what i can never find a tape measure or ruler when the phone rings their is never a tape left in the van when i need one
and i would love one of those tape measures that customers have.
😕 yes we want a sign its got to be 2 metres x 3 feet 10 inches
just remembered a centre finder ruler from jag supplies
and just started using a lazer level from jag as well.

spare bit of magnetic with some marks on it.
please do not use plastic or alloy rulers with a knife.
