    Hi everyone.

I have an error message CHECK PF COUNTER showing on my Rockhopper II.

Does anyone know how to re-set/cure this error?

    The manual doesn’t cover it.

    Many thanks
    Nick

Google search for PF counter rockhopper gave me this:

PRESS F1 , F3 , AND MENU DOWN and reset the counter

    Buy.

I found this through Google – but don’t run one so can’t confirm if it’s correct.

    In maintenance mode

    "Software counter initialization"

BE CAREFULL: In this menu you can make other changes that may adversly effect the printer. Make sure you read this through carefully.

1.) Start up in maintenance Mode:

To use the maintenance mode, you should first call up the maintenance menu on the operation panel.
The maintenance menu is completely independent of the normal operation mode and setup menu display mode. To call up the maintenance menu, follow the steps below.

Step 1 : If the system is in the operation mode or the setup menu mode, press the [POWER] key. (Turn off printer first)

Step 2 : Press and hold the [F1] key, [F3] key and [MENU ↑] key simultaneously. While holding down these
keys, THEN press the [POWER] key and hold until the menu comes up.

The system will enter the maintenance mode and display the maintenance menu.

    May help

    Tim.

Thanks for the replies Gents, i very much appreciate your efforts.

I have now solved the problem. It does involve starting the printer in Maintenance Mode, but not quite as instructed.

I’ve signed up for a technical phone support contract who talked me through the procedure.

£60 for unlimted technical phone help for a year. Pretty good IMO.

    Thanks again
    Nick
