This is a post and panel sign system that I constructed using aluminium composite material.

Made by routering and folding aluminium composite material to from the posts and folded pan. The post caps were made from 10mm and 5mm Forex cut to size.

looks good Phill how strong are the posts once in the ground?

Hard to say George. They seem very strong (being folded and box section). Undoubtedly it’s not as strong as steel, but I reckon it’s more than adequate for a fairly small post and panel system like this.

    Nice job Phil,
but how would that compare costwise, to buying in an ally posts and panels?
looks like a fair amount of labour went into that.

The example here cost less than £20 in materials and was about an hours uninterrupted labour to fabricate.

I don’t use a router but have a "V" groove attachment on my Keencut Steeltrack which cuts the "V" grooves very quickly and easily (without the mess you get from a hand held router). I was thinking about different applications for the "V" groove attachment which is why I came up with this. 😀

The v cut attachment sounds interesting, never knew such a thing existed,
Did you use adhesive on the folds? and if so what do you recommend.

I used to make up my own composite trays, but found it time consuming and like you say, messy doing them with a hand router.

The Keencut might persuade me to start making them in house again.

I don’t use any adhesive Peter – the trays seem strong enough without it so I prefer to keep it simple if I can. Time will tell though 😕
I think you can retro-fit the V cutter attachment onto any existing Keencut including the Excaliber range. The tool is about £100

    Looks good Phill.

You could even fill the legs with expanding foam or something maybe timber.

Is the ‘V’ cutter attachment designed for cutting a ‘V’ grove into picture framing mount board?

    Tim.
