    Hi,

Are any of you running VW on Vista. I have just bought a new PC that had vista and couldnt get it going and had to wind the PC back to XP, now it works fine. I cant get it to work on my laptop running Vista either, it just wont find the printer. The printer is an Roland SP540V
I thought I must have a setting wrong in Vista somewhere.

    Thanks

    Terry

    Hi Terry

I have had the same problem just bought a Versacamm and loaded versaworks printer will load but will only show in the print folder the printer still works but does not show in versaworks on my machine it only shows as a port.
The guy who did my installation has told me that versaworks is not compatible with cetain versions of windows here are the versions it is compatable with:
Vista ultimate service pack 1 (32 bit edition)
Vista business service pack 1 (32 bit edition)
    Vista ultimate (32 bit edition)
    XP pro service pack 3
    XP pro service pack 2
    windows 2000 service pack 4

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for your reply Richie,
that explains it, as mine is Vista Home Premium so not compatible, where as the operating system that it will work on is XP Pro service pack 3

    Thanks again

I’m running vista home premium too, no problems at all.

I assume you’ve set the IP addresses etc as you would of had on your XP machine?

Yes IP address was correct, when I click verify it wont find the printer.

    Hi

I had problems with updating VW 2,30 on Vista h.p.64 and it would not print etc. so I had to copy it from my old pc to a dongle and into the new pc and then i had to set up the printer port. I used the windows 7 tutorials on the roland site after this it worked perfect
    I use Signlab for versaworks

    Hey Terry,

Have you updated Versaworks to the latest version? I’m just about to change to 64 bit with my computer currently running Windows 7 32 bit to a 64 bit environment. I spoke with the guys I bought my printer from, and they have a machine running vista in 64 bit.

Doesn’t seem like Versaworks to not have pretty current software.

    Hi Lee

Yes it is all up to date, I’ll get serious about it in the new year and probably give Vista a miss and upgrade to W7 on both my PC’s

    thanks

    Terry
