Ok I’m sick to the back teeth with my current supplier not protecting edges, corners and having to deal with every other sheet being damaged ! !
I am completely feed up of reminding them about packing every time I call. ..
today is the last straw. . .3 sheets ordered cut to size. .. but damaged.. what is the point ! ! Now I’m going to struggle to meet my deadline. .. and find myself calling my customers making excuses ! !

I know the uksb tool bar lists suppliers for sheet material, but I’d really like a few recommendations who fellow sign makers use and are happy with the service.. . I’d also invite any reps reading this to get in touch !

All I want is someone to match the price I’m currently paying with a product that is of similar quality, able to cut sheet size and supply within 48hrs undamaged, and have good enough stock levels that my orders can be fulfilled 95% of the time. . . .. Honesty is that too much to ask ! ! 🙁

I use Europoint, never had a damaged board yet, they always protect the corners and 99% of the time it arrives next day.

I understand your frustration David – Honestly I do. Third party delivery services in this country are appalling.

I am lucky to be supplied by Europoint Display who use their own drivers to deliver in central Scotland. Subsequently the goods arrive intact. But anything delivered by a third party carrier these days is almost always guaranteed to be damaged. At least that’s my experience, and I’ve given up complaining. I just vote with my feet. 🙄

We get deliveries on their own vehicles but seem to be on the end of the route and seem to get majority of our composite sheets in a damaged state.

Kev you wouldn’t be in the London or South East Area by any chance ? ?

Seems sheet material delivery is a bit of a post code lottery ! I have had good service from my supplier in the past. The same drivers deliver to me regularly and I am satisfied that they are doing their best to be careful with the sheets. I think the problem is the cutting and distribution has changed from being fairly local, to now being hundreds of miles away meaning it gets loaded onto a couple of different trucks and has more opportunity to get damaged.

I have thought about going back to amari but they just seem to talk telephone numbers when it comes to prices, to the point its quite insulting ! ! I’m getting so annoyed with damage and lack of stock I’m considering buying a palette load at a time and a wall saw ! ! 👿

    Hi Dave
yes based in Dagenham, get deliveries out of Deptford even today got 4 cut boards 1450mm x 1300mm delivered. Had all been packed in one package so the driver had been dragging it across the lorries chequer plate floor to move it hence damaged edges.

Could always give Ne plastics a try over in Sidcup, They cover all of London and essex.

Have all of their own drivers and boards very rarely end up damaged, the only issue we had was when no-one was here and he unloaded 3m x 2m foamex on his own.

    Bad times :lol1:
