    Hello

I have a 630 pcut which gets little to no use, but as I am off to Uni (at age 30) I want to try and earn a little bit of money doing small sign writing jobs.

I have a PC which has a version of Corel draw on it (version 8 I think, it came from a mate who was a graphic designer)

I know you can’t cut from Corel using a pcut but I can do all the work and then open it with WinPCSign to cut it. I was just wondering what if any were the advantages of getting a more upto date version of Corel, I can can get a Student copy of X4 from amazon for about £75 but is it worth it?

    Many thanks

    Matt

You would be infringing the licence agreement using that version for any commercial use. I cannot say how Corel check use though.

Well it is still better than a copy with a skull and cross bones on the front 😮

I have downloaded a trial and it has confused the hell out of me, so I think I will be a student for a while yet.

You should be able to cut directly from Corel8 Matt, at least I could when I had a pcut. Can’t remember the name of the plugin, but I could do all my vectors in Corel 7, hit print and send it to the cutter. Maybe somebody else can tell you what the plugin/driver is called. If not I will have a look in the workshop on Monday for you.
