We had our best month ever in April this year followed by the worst in 18months, May was just dire. Just full of low value sh!t. We did need it though in fairness as we moved last December and it gave us a chance to get the unit sorted(new benches, doors hung, signs made and some of them put up etc)

Apart from that we are very busy again and will be for the next couple of months.

I hope it continues in this vein.

    Cheers

I have started my own direct to trade print shop in the last 12 months and although things have been quite tough at times, we have grown each quarter and closed with a profit in the first 12 months.

The last 2 months have each been the biggest months for the business and I am expecting next month to be much the same.
It has been slow, but it sure seems to have picked up a lot in Brisbane and the rest of Australia over the last few months.

I’ve presently got more work than I can handle in the retail side, but wholesale is about my normal turnover. Nothing special sales wise in the first half of the year though.

Traditionally my best month is usually June. This year tho, I did my worst June figures in many years.

I think businesses were buying new machinery and cars in line with the tax incentives from our government before the end of the FY.

July is traditionally my worst month of the year, but I had my best July in many years this past July…. go figure.

I’m expecting an equally busy august too, so it hopefully stays this way for a while yet.

    Tim,

I don’t know why, but it says the system admin has prevented me from sending PM’s? I don’t think I have ever sent one on here either, it might be an oversight or perhaps a default of some kind? I’m sure Rob could clarify?

We are having the best start to a year by far, this time last year was worrying times but as things stand we are reluctantly turning the smaller work away… or should i say moving the dates if the customer is willing to wait which they seem to be happy with at the moment….

We have recently moved into the retail sector for a major supermarket brand and the work is growing day by day, what started out as 52 stores initially within weeks it has grown far beyond what we could have ever imagined. shame we never seem to be at home much but its payin the bills but providing us with many more grey hairs 🙄

To me personally it always feels like its all or nothing in this industry. Traditionally for us July, August and January are our worst months, this year July and August are going to be our best by far. Strange World…. (?)

For me June was a slow month, but July went mad and more than made up for the dip. Im about 15% up on last year, and probably maxed out at teh moment. Hopefully now in a good position as I will be going full time in the new year…………. :lol1:
