i would like to see someone give it a go… but the piping is likely needs to be replaced…. no idea about the rest of it… also the heads needs the metal plate at the bottom of them…. dont know really, theory tells me it can be done but as far as i know, no-one has tried.

    If you could find:

    capping station
    manifolds
    dampers

Suitable for solvent ink that fit the 7600, tube as Dave said, heat source for under the platen then in theory you have converted it to a solvent machine. However with no profiles etc print results would be unpredictable to say the least

ah heat, thats the biggie isn’t it…. without heat u get nothing but a mess.

head configuration should match another printer so thought profiles might be easy to sort. To be honest, running it as a Epson 7600 but what do u do about platten heater hmm.

and i have no idea what a 7600 capper looks like.

thought about this in the past as i have a 9500.
the 7600 is a 7 colour machine so more expense and problems with profiling.
the 9500 has the same heads etc as the cj500 and solvent resist parts are
    available for that.
my cheapskate heater was to be a alloy plate with 3 irons underneath.

so bought the real thing and never looked back (hint)

    Hi All
Thanks very much for all the advice. I think as was suggested it would be easier to purchase a dedicated machine.
    Thanks again
