Hey guys, looking into buying a new printer. Im looking into something that can do a bit of everything and that is user friendly, as this will be my first printer. Would someone be able to give me advice or opinions on both the Mutoh Valuejet 1304 against the Roland Versacam VP540 ??? Does anyone have either of these machines? Choosing is driving me crazy!!!!

Both machines will have their pros and cons.

Advantage of the Versacamm it is a print and cut unit.

Your best bet it to weigh up all the differences and choose the one best for you.

What will you be printing on mainly? Are you more concerned about quality or speed?

Once you decide what you need take some files you would normally print and get them printed in the modes on the printers the sales person would recommend. See the quality and note the time taken. Then decide from there. Also get the samples printed on the media you will be using.

I have no knowledge first hand on the Mutoh. I do on the Versacamm range and from a user friendly point of view in regards to maintenance its very easy. Just wipe around the heads and wipers one to two weeks and your fine.

I think one of the most important aspects you need to look at also is support for either machine. When printers are running they are great but when they aren’t you can waste a lot of money to diagnose the problem in time, media and ink. Having someone you can call who can give you a solution to the problem is invaluable.
