Frame for banners?
Posted by Joseph Helm on 18 May 2009 at 20:32Hi
I’ve got a customer that sells advertising space on the side of his van.
He wants to change to using banners on the side (because they are longer lasting, and easy to swap)… whats the best/cheap frame system to use?
Thanks
Joseph

Its like Spirit Display but taken a step further, Spirit Display is just a simple trim to mount to a flat surface but uses the same fastening system

like the idea but is it a once only fit, as after you have trimmed off the excess you can’t refit it.
or have i got that wrongchris

Chris
you have got it right, they say you require 100mm on each edge to allow fittingKev

your right they do say that kev but also show you in the video that you are able to remove part to change light bulbs for light boxes and the like. then hammer back in…
this is almost the exact same system i used for converting/changing a lightbox into a flex face sign. the downside is when you fix the trim to the light box there is allot of bounce in the wall of the regular lightbox and you need to give it a good firm pelt with the hammer to create the tension pinch so i would think you need their extrusion walls to do that correct if not just better than i did mine. that said that was a few years ago i did that sign and recently saw it and still as good. even though i had only did it back then as a temporary measure.
i bought my trim from spirit displays and theirs is very much the same so i wonder if spirit are agents for crystal or vice versa.

can anyone remember the name of the company at sign uk that had a tensioning system where a banner was slotted in and the frame sprung open so to speak to create the tension?
