  roland versacamm,mimaki cjv or uniform cadet

  been doing alot of reading over the past few days and i am looking at either id like to know peoples experiences with each from product quality to user friendly and which in their eyes is good value for money.
  ive read alot of posts about which is better and i know that you pay for what you get and the different versions of the versacamm etc

  i suppose i am looking for a review on each and any problems that you have encountered with each

  and also interested in hearing from people that are using the mimaki cjv with also their experiences and problems

  and also who is giving the best deals on these machines

  Well, you’re going to get as many opinions as there are posters on this thread.

  From my limited experience, if you want to be able to deal with any job that comes through your door, a Mimaki running full solvent is the machine to have.

  In my circumstances, separate print and cut machines is the way to go. I’d like enough label work to justify a CJV as well as our JV33, but we’re not there yet.

  We buy our Mimakis from I-Sub. A finer bunch of people you will struggle to met.

  john to be honest i want all the opinions that i can get as i am interested in all 3 machines but i want good reviews like yours on the manufacturers and these machines as i dont want to rush in and buy then find out for an extra couple of thousand i could have got something better again
  so i am basically looking for reviews on all 3 good or bad

  don’t just judge these machines on the machines remember RIP software that runs these machines is a major point as well. I run a Roland P&C sc545 with Versaworks. I design in Flexi & export files direct to VW. When i looked at going the Mimaki route, this was no longer going to be as straight forward. Because Mimaki use 2 programs 1 for print (Raster Link 4) and then for cutting (Fine cut) which are orientated towards Illustrator. So this would of meant a change of work flow & software. So look in to the RIP software as well as the machines. As to which machine is best everyone will have their own opinion as you will when you have made your decision it is a personal choice. I have looked at both Roland & Mimaki in depth & had meters of my own files printed from each machine. I could list pros & cons that are my opinions for each machine but someone could list the opposite.

  thanks kevin for that i will be looking into software aswell over the next few week and kevin id like to hear your pros and cons of each as peoples knowledge and experience is always a handy thing to know and i know at the end of the day its down to my preference
