Printing on poster paper
Posted by Colin Templeton on 18 May 2009 at 15:22At present I am trying to print on poster paper however the ink is almost giving a sprayed effect at the edge of every letter, line or photo. Any ideas on how to sort this. The model is a Sol Jet pro 2 V SC- 545EX.

Troubleshoot:
Is there something on your heads? A hair etc? Clean them?
Just on the paper? or all media?
Head heights?
Does it do it in uni direction assuming your print in bi direction? -
Could be static discharge. Try slowing down the head speed.

Head height was my first thought too to be honest. We get that effect when I forget to drop the head back down after doing banners etc. Shows really badly on the print/cut registration dots – like you say an overspray.

Cheers guys, the printer is cleaned regularly and was double checked when we first noticed the problem so we ruled that out and lowered the head height then altered the head speed and its helped loads.
Going to play about with those settings until it’s resolved fully.
Thanks again, much appreciated.
