Thats true, but it also over takes the Eagle in price by 500%. I’ve seen several Eagle’s for around the $60k mark, and spoke to a few shops that have them installed an running daily with little to no problems.
They can reach up to 1000sq ft/h (so I’ve read) and the colour gammut is respectable with the 6 color.
The Spyders start at around $300k, and through the quality is better, I can’t justify that cost up front.
I’m actually thinking of getting the Eagle for "high volume" digital jobs, and getting an Accuity for my roll to roll, and other higher quality pieces I need to print. The two machines combined would still be cheaper than just one spyder.
