• Number Plates

Posted by Lee O'keefe on 18 May 2009 at 09:16

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody does number plates.

just purchased a mint second hand kit (oki 5600, jig & roller and LG Plates Software)

Wondering what the best option is for doing them as you can do them in 2 part or 3 part stages.

wondering what the best cost effective way id to do them and where is the best place to buy stock from

    any help would be appreciated

    Lee

    Hi Lee,
I think you have to register and be accepted by the DVLA as its illegal to make plates now – maybe why your gear was so cheap.

    Cheers John

Been doing them this way since the system came out, But we use the three part way, Perspex, Reflective backing and laser film sandwiched in between.
This way is ten times better than just sticking a film on the front.
If you want any info on the pros and cons of this method then feel free to ring.

Sorry but we print from Flexisign and have made up templates for all the different size plates. Make sure you have set the page size the same on the printer software and the LG software.

Sorted it now prints fine thanks for all your help. Just waiting for my DVLA information to come though.

Where is the best place to buy stock from as i see the LG stuff is good but a little expensive.

Plan to use the 2 part system as looks easier to do

    regards
