…if you are out of both Rapid Prep and also Wax and Grease Remover?
    Any suggestions?
I have to letter a boat (with paint) today and it’s waxy as all get-out.
    Thanks.

    Jill,
there was a programme on the tv this week where they used hairspray to remove wax crayons on a door and wall.

It made the wax stick to the hairspay and then they just washed it off.

    I haven’t tried it, but it’s just a thought.

I wouldn’t use it on wood, but normal surface of boat might be ok.

    Cheers,
    Cheryl

    Hmmm.
I know hairspray removes permanent marker.
That’s something to store in my memory bank.
I think I am just going to run down to the auto parts store.
It’s a hectic day today but I probably should just do this the right way.
    It’s a gelcoat/fiberglass boat.
    Thanks!

we use rubbing alcohol!! clean first with water to remove salt/barnacles etc, then a good rub down with alcohol! We only do vinyl though Jill dont know if it will affect your paints?? I dont think it will as it evaporates pretty fast!!

    regards

Try an angle grinder. It will strip all the wax away in a jiffy!
