Applying 3mm perspex onto plasterboard?
Hi all,
I need to apply laser cut 3mm letters onto a plasterboard wall.
They have to go flat against the wall (No spacers). Which is the best method to get them to hold on to the wall, and how can I space the individual letters out correctly on the wall.Normally I just flood coat the top of the letters, but in this case I would prefer the letters coloured on the sides as well. How well does perspex take paint? would I need to undercoat it – and would the finish interfere with what ever I stick the letters with (IE silicone).
Any help out there?

If your flooding skils are good, why not coat the backs of the letters? rather than painting.
Make a paper template and transfer the design to the wall using a pouncing wheel just inside the lines.
Ive used "Gripfil" in the past for applying, OK on cost, goes off quick and sticks like sh1t!!!!

Yes, pouncing wheel and chalk is the way, with VHB tape to rear. Some letter suppliers make vinyl templates but I would not use that method as it may damage the wall and is a lot more work peeling the stuff off.
Flame the edges on the clear and it generally lets the colour through

I’ve never even heard of a pouncing wheel! I will have a look around to see if I can get hold of one.
will double sided tape from Oracal hold?If I apply the vinyl to the back would it have a reaction to the gripfill? is it solvent based?
