protruding post sign
i have to make a sign which will be fitted to a 150 mm round post
the sign will be 5ft tall by 2ft wide and be protruding from the side of the post not covering the post
i was thinking i would have to make a aliminium frame and rivet dibond to the frame and then strap it to the post with big steel banding/jubilee clips,
but to make life easier for me i am wondering if you know of anyone who makes something like this already which i could buy ready made

Why not buy a lightbox with no opal or gear trays.
I think you need some width to the panel then to a solid fixing else it will just twist.I also think you need something more man for the job than banding.
Like a larger scaled exhaust pipe clamp that fixes a section solid to the post – then fix the box to it.
Others may have more ideas, 5′ x 2′ is a fair size surface for the wind to hit.

Having something protruding out of a single post that size is going to generate quite a bit of torque on the post, and unless fixed with bracing bars in the ground, it may eventually spin the post in the ground.
The light box idea is not a bad option, as you may be able to use double wall mount brackets to hold it in place.
