Who do you recommend for large printed banners. Just had a customer who’s had a price of £240 for a 12′ x 10′. We can print the usual 1250 or so on the Versacamm but whats the point at selling banners at that cost.
This was from another sign firm who told the customer they bought in because of size.

As a general guide, and as a trade client, you will be paying £10-15 per square metre for finished grand format digitally printed banners on standard stock. Add more for speciality materials such as blockout, backlit and canvas.

The largest machines take material up to 5 metres wide.

Loads of trade suppliers available – take your pick, there are several amongst UKSG members.

It would be interesting to hear some recommendations from other members though.

I use Hampshire Flag Co. Excellent service for trade print, and they don’t compete with you, even though they sell direct.

superwidegraphics.com are a pretty decent company to deal with. helpful guys and flexible on rates depending on scale. as has been said, lots of good trade printers available…
super sized banners and the like are easy enough to get hold of but be sure that you and your customer are aware that these size of prints are at low resolution. up close the pixels are like stamps… 😀 ok, im exaggerating but they are big. my point is some customers, and us lot expect the same type of quality our own printers print out the goods. definitely not the case.
in a nutshell. if you have something being viewed from a distance you wont have any problems. but if this huge banner or wall display is going to be walked by and viewed at eye level. either get a high dpi printer to do the work and weld/join the media, shop around finding a trade supplier with quality output that is acceptable or forget it. dont just be attracted by the low square metre prices…. it will come back to bite you in the backside!
